New Articles & Photo

Via this ebay auction, I tracked down these two new articles, both quite interesting, from The Times Online

Play Your Cads Right, and You're a Hero

The Sour Smell of Success

As per the auction, apparently the below photo appears with the first article. I've done my best to unwatermark it, although it would be lovely if one of our UK hens could obtain a copy of the print version and provide a better, larger scan. [info]grigorisgirl? Kind of a weird photo, isn't it?

Update: Here is a small version of the photo I found on the TimesOnline site:

Those were very interesting - thanks for posting the links.
IAWTC. :)
What is that a code-word for?

Humor me.

I Agree With That Comment.
Kind of a weird photo? Oh come on, cats, i thought I'd be stepping in the middle of a swoonfest by now.
The photo is..well..absolutely...DELICIOUS! Especially for the ones with a nose fetish amongst us. *shy smile*
Yeah, I probably shouldn't have called it weird. Unusual.

I do enjoy the left side of the photo. The right side is nice, too, but I like the left side better.
Great pose. Great profile.
I do love these artistic shots of him.
Me too, Oh Great Wise Wink;)
(That new one on Claudia's is great too!)
Yeap, this has been a pretty productive day!
Sorry I'm still a bit muzzy from a night out and have just seen this. What date is this from? If it's today's Sunday Times I have the paper unopened downstairs!!!
I must eat now as I am feeling peculiarLOL But I shall go look and shall return and I love the photo!
The ebay auction only describes them as a 'newspaper supplement', and the online articles are dated December 14.

Crossing fingers, toes and other parts!
Oh Bugger! Must have been in The Times last week then! Surprised nobody picked up on it anywhere. I don't know anybody that gets the daily Times, I only get it on Sundays!
I used to google the Times daily at one time as it didn't show up on Google News feed but then it started to so I don't bother to look very often.
Short of rummaging around people's recycle bins in two week's time I don't think I'll be able to get it:(
Have you looked through the Sunday one yet? Maybe the online one is just dated wrong? *irrational desperate hope*

I will post at Claudia's for some assistance.
No, I looked straight away.
thanks for posting these links. very interesting script and nice to learn who plays what in Sweeney Todd.
Yes, except I think there is an error about that. Rickman will play Judge Turpin, not Judge Martin, I think.
And what's this? the icy Russian mastermind in Die Hard Hans Gruber Russian?? Has this person SEEN Die Hard???
Ah, well, I was already completely pissed at the author for daring to compare him to John Malkovich. I hadn't caught that. There are a number of errors in the article.

I love how he condescended to her and said, "No dear. She's 15", regarding Rachel Hurd-Wood.

ROFL!
LOL...I love his comment about referring to Rachel as "jailbait"!
Yes, I enjoyed that myself!
So was it difficult to remain paternal? I ask naively. “No, my dear,” says Rickman. “She’s 15.
I thought the interviewer must have been a woman but he's called James!
Huh. That's weird. I thought so too.

There are a lot of weird little oddities about this interview.
Interesting picture.
Thanks for the photo, the links, etc.
Thank you for posting the articles and the photo. I love the pic and especially enjoyed reading the first article. The last line was great.
Did you find any information at the Times website on who took the photo?
No, I looked, I couldn't find anything. I wonder if this and the new photo posted at Claudia's today were taken in the same session. They are similar with the pastel colored glowing backgrounds. Photographically they are really a bit odd -- not really very sharp or focused, and the lighting is really not too great. But they look like lovely photos - if -- we could find the hi res versions!
Thank you.

I sent an e-mail to the Times. Hopefully I'll get a reply. I really like this photo.

I'm never quite sure why a photographer decides on a certain kind of lightning. Think of that photo by Cambridge Jones with AR's head half hidden. That works for me, but with others I'm quite stumped why there's so much shadow.
Yes, well Cambridge Jones' photos are extremely well done and artistic. Not that these aren't, I just think they're overexposed. Let me know what you find out about the photo, if you don't mind.
Sadly I'm quite bad at taking pictures myself. I once took a class but it didn't help much.

Of course, I'll tell you should I hear from them.
Vera, did you also ask them about the possibility of purchasing a copy of the print version of the paper for that day?
Of course. :)

I just had another look at it. While I might have no idea about lightning, I can't help staring at his lovely and exposed neck.
No, sorry. I didn't ask them about buying a copy of the paper, but a print of the photo.
Oh, you a neck girl too? I've never given necks a second thought before but have suddenly realised they are quite sexy!LOL I was watching Jamiroquai on tv the other week and suddenly realised I was fixating on his neck!!
This is a good neck photo!
Open collar, sternum and neck... hmmm. :)

that strange.

I usually like this kind of pictures - the object and the mirror of it ( I have few of those pictures taken on my wedding), but for some reason he looks really bad, maybe it's the fact that he's really pale and the black and purple are strong coulors?

the articles where interesting, I wonder who gave the first writer a pencil and the right to interview, but that's something else...
thank you for posting it :-)

ohh, have you seen this?
